Andrew Scott Ltd was appointed to deliver a new state-of-the-art leisure pool as part of a wider upgrade to enhance guest facilities at Trecco Bay holiday park. The development aimed to significantly improve the site's leisure offering by replacing outdated infrastructure with a modern, family-oriented aquatic facility.

The project involved the demolition of an existing structure on site, followed by the full construction of a new purpose-built leisure pool facility, which included:

• Complex civil engineering and structural works to support a high-specification wet leisure environment.

• Extensive mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation, including advanced water filtration, air handling, humidity control, and heating systems.

• Integration of specialist pool plant equipment and water treatment systems compliant with current leisure and public health standards.

Delivering a wet leisure facility to the highest standards required meticulous attention to construction quality control throughout all stages of the build. Key measures included:

• Strict tolerances in concrete works to ensure structural integrity, water containment, and durability in high-moisture environments.

• Precision installation of M&E systems, ensuring reliability, energy efficiency, and long-term maintainability of critical pool infrastructure.

• Continuous inspection and testing regimes for waterproofing membranes, tiling, finishes, and pool plant components, in accordance with industry best practices and relevant regulations.

• Coordination with specialist subcontractors for water treatment, ventilation, and BMS (building management systems), to guarantee safe and effective operation of the facility.

With the holiday park remaining open throughout construction, health and safety was of paramount importance.
