The History of Andrew Scott Ltd

Established in 1870, Andrew Scott Ltd is proud to be one of Wales’s oldest and most respected independent construction companies. With a legacy spanning over 150 years, we have built a reputation for delivering high-quality civil engineering and construction services to both public and private sector clients.

Originally founded in Rutherglen, near Glasgow, during the latter half of the 19th century, the company expanded into South Wales, setting roots at the Dockside in Port Talbot. Early work included significant projects for the original Port Talbot Steel Company, marking the beginning of a long-standing presence in the region.

Throughout the early 20th century, Andrew Scott Ltd broadened its civil engineering operations across Wales and successfully diversified into commercial, industrial, and sporting sectors. In 1946, the company was formally incorporated, continuing to grow its reputation through the delivery of prestigious and complex projects.
