Shortlisted: Architects Journal Awards - Health & Well-being Project

The construction of a new 15-bed inpatient unit providing individual en-suites and family over-night stay facilities within each bedroom, along with an extension to the existing offices, a new inpatient wing and reconfiguration of internal layouts.

The new wing also includes a therapy Spa, a new ambulance entrance, landscaped gardens, new cafe, break out spaces, and sanctuary room for relaxation and reflection.

Our works also included the demolition of the existing in-patient unit.

As part of improving the patient experience the redesigned IPU provides the right clinical setting to allow nurses to provide the highest quality care.

We enjoyed a very good relationship with the Scott team, who were professional and clearly motivated to do a good job. Scotts worked hard not to disrupt our normal activity. We thought the programme was ambitious but appreciated the recognition that time was important to us. We are, very pleased with the final product and I regard the project as a success
