Seven Sisters Industrial Units
Andrew Scott Ltd are delighted to have successfully completed the £3m design and construction of a new industrial development at Nant Y Cafn Business Park in Seven Sisters for our client, Neath Port Talbot Council.
Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the scheme involved the construction of a single-storey industrial unit comprising six individual workshop units, along with associated highways infrastructure, parking, drainage, landscaping and all related works.
A dedicated parking area has been created, providing 18 spaces, including two accessible bays and electric vehicle charging points. A Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) has also been installed, supported by new tree and boundary planting to enhance biodiversity, soften the site’s perimeter and improve visual appeal.
Designed with functionality and simplicity in mind, each workshop unit features a brick and cladding exterior with a pitched roof, incorporating translucent roof lights to maximise natural daylight and integrated PV panels to enhance energy efficiency. Each unit has its own roller shutter entrance, individual pedestrian access and has been fitted internally with a dedicated office area, WC facilities and a breakroom.
This project supports local economic development by providing high-quality, modern workspace suited to a range of light industrial and manufacturing uses.
Steve Rees, Operations Director at Andrew Scott Ltd, said: “We were pleased to collaborate with Neath Port Talbot Council on the successful delivery of this important development in Seven Sisters. This project reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting local economic growth through sustainable construction. The new industrial units provide modern, energy-efficient workspaces that will serve as a valuable asset to businesses in the region.”
Cllr Jeremy Hurley, Neath Port Talbot Council’s Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Economic Growth, said:
“Supporting local businesses and giving them opportunities to flourish is central to our work as a council. We are grateful for the funding provided by the UK Government, which has helped make developments like Nant Y Cafn Business Park possible.
"These projects play an important role in providing high‑quality, modern workspaces that enable local companies to grow, innovate and create jobs.”
Cllr Steve Hunt, Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, added:
“It’s fantastic to see such strong demand for these new units in the Neath Valley, with tenants moving in so quickly after completion. Supporting our valley communities is a key priority for the Council, and developments like this give local businesses the chance to establish and expand their operations right here in the area.
"Nant Y Cafn Business Park is a great example of how investment can bring real benefits to local people, local jobs and the local economy.”
