A new dry dock fabrication building for maintenance, repair, and construction of works
This project involved the construction of a new dry dock fabrication building designed for the maintenance, repair, and construction of working boats, pilot vessels, passenger ferries, and commercial marine craft.
The purpose-built facility is equipped with multiple overhead gantry cranes, each with a six-tonne lifting capacity, engineered for continuous-duty operation. These cranes facilitate the efficient movement and precise positioning of prefabricated boat sections, engines, and heavy machinery enabling seamless workflow throughout the build and repair process.
The boat building hall represents a major capital investment within the Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone, delivered for Mustang Marine as part of the company’s strategic growth. Funded in partnership with the Port of Milford Haven, the new facility was developed to double Mustang Marine’s construction capacity and support the creation of over 100 new jobs, in response to rising global demand for specialist workboats and marine engineering services.
This state-of-the-art facility underscores the region’s commitment to marine innovation, high-quality fabrication, and economic development within the UK’s maritime sector.
