SCHOOL OF INDUSTRIAL DESIGN (Project Alex)
Construction of a 200m inland Surf Lake using ground-breaking Wavegarden cove technology – the first of its kind in the UK. This exciting facility will generate up to 1,000 quality waves per hours, ranging from 50cm (1.7ft) to almost 2m (6.5ft) in height.
The new build also includes an education centre for schools and colleges, a café and bar, a surf shop. There’s also external works for landscaped gardens and car parks

The refurbishment, restoration and extension of the Grade II listed, former Central Library of Swansea to create the new Institute of Sustainable Design (Industrial Design, School of Architectural Glass, Automotive Design) for the University.
Along with the construction of a new state of the art, glass fronted extension.
Works include the complete refurbishment of the iconic circular Central Library and reading room, with antique glass domed roof.
Stone was sensitively repaired in order to retaining the character and aesthetic of the original architecture.
The Central Library has been used as a location for several BBC productions including Dr Who and Sherlock.
