Expansion of existing track system

£0.3m

Tata Steel Europe

Undertaken as part of a multi-million pound investment plan, rail track and heavy mobile equipment route form a critical part of the sites logistics network.

Our contract covered the installation of 1,200-metre rail track extension requiring the excavation work to create a trough installation for new rail track and the breaking out and removal of major obstructions.

The new track is fixed to serviceable concrete sleepers and steel sleepers using pandrol clips, aligned and levelled using both concrete blocks and steel shims; pads and insulator, and connected to the existing live rail track.

We also constructed a series of transition slabs, pedestrian walkways and emergency vehicle crossing points.
