Construction of a 200m inland Surf Lake using ground-breaking Wavegarden cove technology – the first of its kind in the UK. This exciting facility will generate up to 1,000 quality waves per hours, ranging from 50cm (1.7ft) to almost 2m (6.5ft) in height.

The new build also includes an education centre for schools and colleges, a café and bar, a surf shop. There’s also external works for landscaped gardens and car parks

Works include restoration to Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, redevelopment,
reconfiguration and modernisation of other existing spaces, as well as a new build inter-
connecting Atrium.

Once completed it will provide a major new centre for learning, heritage, culture and enterprise in
three themed zones: World of Knowledge, Culture and Community, and Enterprise and Innovation.

Phase 1, which involves the Old College itself and the Georgian villas (1 & 2 Marine Terrace), is expected to be completed around the end of 2025. Phase 2, The Cambria, is expected to be
completed by late 2026.
