Andrew Scott Limited is delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for two awards at the Constructing Excellence Wales Awards 2024.
Our Cross Hands East SES low carbon project for Carmarthenshire County Council has been shortlisted for Building Project of the Year. The project was delivered to meet the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge for operational energy targets and is a low carbon exemplar project.
The Cross Hands SES design and build project is a new mixed commercial and industrial development for the Cross Hands Joint Venture partnership between Carmarthenshire County Council and Welsh Government, supported by the Active Building Centre and SPECIFIC. It was delivered to BREEAM Excellent, BIM level 2 and Secured by Design Gold standard. The design of the new units are driving innovation, technology and sustainable skills, and the development is the first in Wales to use the Active Building Design Toolkit from an early stage to deliver a low net-zero carbon project. As a Welsh contractor, Andrew Scott Ltd are committed to helping the Welsh Government reach net-zero by 2050. We are totally committed to decarbonisation of the built environment, with a focus on reducing emissions throughout the business and our own target of reaching net-zero by 2030.
Andrew Scott has also been shortlisted in the ESG Award Category. As a company, we are extremely passionate about Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and therefore ensure that all of our practices maximise social, economic, and environmental sustainability. As part of our commitment to creating a more sustainable future, Andrew Scott has aligned with The Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and has embedded ESG as best practice, establishing a business ethic that has aligned to the principles of ESG in everything we do.
The awards night will take place at the Celtic Manor on Friday 14th June. Now in their 18th year, the prestigious awards recognise the best of the construction industry in Wales and demonstrate the passion that Andrew Scott has for the sector in Wales.
