The contract for this purpose built state-of-the-art facility on a medi-science park situated next to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, in Llantrisant, was awarded to Andrew Scott Ltd by the WDA.The development which houses the most up to date drug action and safety monitoring facilities is the home of Marix Ltd, who carries out clinical drug trials for pharmaceutical companies producing medication for respiratory, brain and cardiovascular diseases.
The centre covers 11,000ft² and internally includes laboratories staffed by 45 employees, and space for 30 beds to be occupied by volunteers.
The contract was awarded under the ECC form of contract, which enabled all interested parties to integrate with the Client and successfully complete this high quality building to programme and within tight budget constraints.
